Lopburi Monkey Temple, Thailand | Hail to Your New Simian Kings!
When you are travelling the world, you come across stuff that you just wouldn’t expect to at home.
Beaches full of penguins, unexploded bombs, islands saved by birds and even sexy fruit.
But in Thailand, they like to drown you in the surreal and unpredictable.
– – > Kitchens in the street, um yeah, no worries
– – – – > Petrol sold from a hand-cranked plastic tub. We got you covered.
– – – – – – > Six people on a moped. Just another day in the life of a Bangkokian resident.
But just when you think you’ve seen it all, you get told about a city taken over by monkeys.
Now this I gotta see!
And this fabled city ruled over by a real-life King Louie?
Ladies and Gentleman, let me present to you…..
….Lopburi.
P.S. If you don’t know who King Louie it, watch the video, I guarantee it will make your day.
P.P.S. If you want to visit Lopburi, it’s a couple of hours north of Bangkok on the train. There are a few ancient temples to see, and an interesting museum, but let’s be clear, the big attraction is those monkeys!
P.P.P.S. If you are looking for some tangible, useful information, not just a load of monkey pics, then check out this link 🙂
